Flyer Grade: 6

UEN EdTech Standards
Standard 5:
Use technology tools (e.g., multimedia authoring, presentation, web tools, digital cameras, scanners) for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom. (3, 4)

ISTE Standard
Knowledge Constructor:
I critically select, evaluate, and synthesize digital resources into a collection that reflects my learning and builds my knowledge.

Utah Core Standards
Standard 1:
Students will understand that the appearance of the moon changes in a predictable cycle as it orbits Earth and as Earth rotates on its axis.

This flyer gives students information about the blood moon. They can see when it is and they know what is expected of them. It is a hard copy that they can take home so it will make it easier for them to refer to it. It is also something they can do with their family, which is great for involving the parents in what their student is learning.

It was great to see all these different ways of teaching. It is helpful to see some of the creative ways you can help your students learn. I liked to see some of the ideas and then come up with other things to improve them as well. There was one about comparing fractions and it would be fun and make it easier for the students, if they had pictures and colors to help them really see what they're working with. I could use these ideas in my classroom and make them my own as well. It is a great way to see different teaching techniques. I also really liked the corralling chickens idea where you compare fractions and find the matching one. It is fun to do things like the corralling or the coordinate plane to apply to real life. I would love to set up my room as a miniature town on a coordinate plane so my students could see how it applies. It would also work with a GPS and teaching them how the math they're using is applied to technology.
